The Bridge to Shore Group of DAA was founded in Dallas, Texas in 2007 by a group of addicts who wanted a 12-step program specifically designed for drug addiction one that still followed the solution-based program of action laid out in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.
In honoring AA’s 12 Traditions and its singleness of purpose, they understood they could not join AA as “addicts,” yet they deeply respected the success AA had in helping alcoholics recover.
DAA offers a place where newcomers can hear a message of real recovery and find a solution to the obsession with drugs. It is also a home for those who have completed the 12 steps with a sponsor and want to share their experience, strength, and hope with addicts who are still suffering.
Whether you’re brand-new, already worked the steps, or simply curious about what DAA is and what it has done for its members, we invite you to join us for the 2026 Drug Addicts Anonymous Conference!
